Resolving Coordinate Structures for Chinese Constituent Parsing
Coordinate structures are linguistic structures consisting of two or more conjuncts, which usually compose into larger constituent as a whole unit. However, the boundary of each conjunct is difficult to identify, which makes it difficult to parse the whole coordinate and larger structures. In labeled data, such as the Penn Chinese Tree Bank (CTB), coordinate structures are not labeled explicitl...

متن کاملHybrid Constituent and Dependency Parsing with Tsinghua Chinese Treebank
In this paper, we describe our hybrid parsing model on Mandarin Chinese processing. The model combines the mainstream constitute and dependency parsing and the dataset we use it the Tsinghua Chinese Treebank, whose annotation has both constitutes and head information. We show the adaption of this annotation scheme to the normal constitute structure, dependency structure, and the integration of ...
متن کاملConstituent Parsing by Classification
We present an approach to constituent parsing, which is driven by classifiers induced to minimize a single regularized objective. It is the first discriminatively-trained constituent parser to surpass the Collins (2003) parser without using a generative model. Our primary contribution is simplifying the human effort required for feature engineering. Our model can incorporate arbitrary features ...
متن کاملShallow Discourse Parsing Using Constituent Parsing Tree
This paper describes our system in the closed track of the shared task of CoNLL2015. We formulize the discourse parsing work into a series of classification subtasks. The official evaluation shows that the proposed framework can give competitive results and we give a few discussions over latent improvement as well.
